My hypothesis of this experiment is to find out whether meditation increases heart rate and body temp and decreases blood pressure. My independent variable would be heart rate, blood pressure, body temp. The dependent variable would be meditation. Starting next week I will start to begin my experiment. I just need to get the things from the nurse.
My hypothesis of the experiment is to find out whether tattoos or body modifications cause impulsive or risky behaviors in college students. My independent variable would be impulsive or risky behaviors. My dependent variable would be tattoos or body modifications. I am currently writing out my questions for the survey, and the pictures for the power point and i should be starting next week.
The aim of my study is to determine color associations, mainly mood associations. Participants will be shown colors and asked how the color makes them feel, why it makes them feel that way and if the color reminds them of anything in particular. This will give a look into not only how the color makes the participant feel but also why they feel that way. The dependent variable is mood and the independent variable is the color. It is hypothesized that most if not all colors will have a mood associated with them.
My hypothesis is: Does exercise improve cognitive function? My independent variables are physical exercise and mental exercise (progressive relaxation). My Dependent variable will be the scores on the written test. I have my exercise session planned out. I will need the heart rate monitor to measure that the participants have truly "exercised" to mee the research criteria. I need to research standard written exams as well as pin down which progressive relaxation technique I will use (youtube has been a wealth of knowledge for testing these PR tech's).
My hypothesis for my experiment is do athletic teams benefit from formal and informal leadership. My independent variables are formal and informal leadership and the dependent variable is the effect of both formal and informal leaders on their sports team. I received two books today from Charlie and will begin reading them and hopefully get some good information on leadership. I think I am going to get more information on the leadership thing that the lacrosse team is going to be attending so that I can use them for my study.
Avery and I changed our topic again, we are now looking at the relationship between music and stress. Our hypothesis for this experiment is that the use of music decreases the amount of stress in people. Our independent variable is music, and the dependent variable is stress. We worked on getting articles and doing our annotated bibliographies this weekend. So now we need to figure everything else out.
My hypothesis for my experiment is does music influence personality. My independent variable is music and my dependent variable is personality types. The control of my experiment is noise or white noise. Now it is time for me to explore and test out my hypothesis. See if there is any correlation between the two.
My hypothesis for the experiment is the effects of homogamy, sexual imprinting, and facial similarities have on romantic couples. My independent variable is the actual couples. My dependent variable is the ratings scores that participants will give based on individual attraction, number of correct matches for each couple, and then also how similar each selected match looks to each other. The next thing I have to do is start to put together a collection of "couples" that I will use in my experiment, and then also create a work sheet that I can hand out to participants so that they can do their ratings and matching.
My hypothesis is the effect of attachment style has on reactions to infidelity. My independent variable will be the attachment styles and the infidelity scenario. My dependent will be their reactions. I have found some questionnaires that may be helpful in measuring the attachment style and their reactions. The Attachment Style Questionnaire or the Experiences in Close Relationships Scale, and the Negative subscale of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule.
